Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) is the national portal of Indian Customs of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) that provides e-filing services to the Trade, Cargo Carriers and other Trading Partners.

A DSC is required for users to sign a document digitally and file in the portal.

The portal has the following requirements to use a DSC

Installation of drivers for USB Token
Installation of PKI Component
Administrator rights with full access privilege to install utility
Manage Java security for exception site lists
Manage Java settings to import ICEGATE website certificate
Limited browsers supported. The browser may have to be used with compatibility view setting

01.How does xorkeesign help?

♦ To register DSC
- Install xorkee app and get a xorkee handle for the DSC.
- Subscribe to xorkeesign service.
- Go to old ICEGATE portal and follow the standard steps to register your DSC in the portal. When the DSC is selected, you will get a xorkee notification. Enter the token password.
- Your DSC would be registered in the ICEGATE portal.
- Follow these steps even when you renew your DSC.
♦Filing services

eSANCHIT :
You don’t have to sign the PDF using separate tool and upload in eSANCHIT . xorkee users can upload unsigned PDF files directly in the portal. They will get a notification for signing. When the token password is provided, the file will be signed and uploaded automatically.
Alternately, xorkee users can install ‘xorkee Wand’. Now from File Explorer, the PDF file can be right clicked. A menu call ‘xorkee Wand’ with a sub menu ‘Sign’ will appear. When ‘sign’ is clicked, the user gets a notification. On entering the password for the token, the signed file gets stored in the file system. It is that easy. No other signing tool or component is required. This file can now be uploaded in ICEGATE portal.

File Upload :
For signing EDI files like Bill of Entry (.be), Shipping Bills (.sb) etc.. xorkee user can install ‘xorkee Wand’. Keep the DSC token connected to the system. Ensure xorkee app is installed in the system where DSC token is connected. Go to File Explorer and select the file or the folder containing the files to be signed and right click. A menu call ‘xorkee Wand’ with a sub menu ‘sign’ will appear. When ‘sign’ is clicked, you will get a notification. On entering the password for the token, the signed file(s) gets stored in the file system. No other signing tool or component is required. These files can now be uploaded in ICEGATE portal.

SCMTR JSON file signing :
Filling of VCN/ATE/ELR Message is done in ICEGATE portal to create a JSON file. For signing JSON files, install ‘xorkee Wand’. Keep the DSC token connected to the system. Ensure xorkee app is installed in the system where DSC token is connected. Go to File Explorer and select the file or the folder containing the JSON files to be signed and right click. A menu call ‘xorkee Wand’ with a sub menu ‘sign for ICEGATE’ will appear. When this is clicked, you will get a notification. On entering the password for the token, the signed file(s) gets stored in the file system. No other signing tool or component is required. These files can now be emailed to ICEGATE.
You may use any web browser
You may even connect your DSC token to Android or iPhone and sign from wherever you are.

02.How does xorkeesign work?

xorkee app should be installed. A xorkee handle for the DSC should be available.
‘xorkeesign India G2C’ browser extension should be installed in your browser.

Signing PDF files for eSanchit :

Whenever PDF files are to be uploaded in the portal, connect DSC token to your PC or phone where xorkee app is installed. You would be prompted to enter your xorkee handle in the portal. You would then receive a notification on the device where the DSC token is connected. The token password should be entered. The signed PDF will get uploaded. You don’t have to sign beforehand.

Signing EDI files :

Whenever other files like .be / .sb/ etc. are to be signed, copy them in a folder. Right click on the folder and use ‘xorkee Wand’ menu to sign. All signed files will get stored in that folder.
